Dental Checkups & Cleanings

Dental Sealants
The back teeth can be a little tricky to clean for small hands that are still learning how to brush, which is why the molars/premolars so often develop cavities in children. Thankfully, giving them the extra protection they need is nice and simple. With a dental sealant, we apply a thin, clear layer of resin to the teeth that quickly hardens into a barrier that harmful plaque, bacteria, and food particles cannot cross. In just a few minutes, we can literally give your child up to a decade’s worth of round-the-clock cavity prevention.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride is a mineral that actually strengthens the enamel and makes it more resistant to decay upon contact, which is why you’ll find it added to so many toothpastes and community water sources. For children, regular fluoride use can also aid in the development of their adult teeth, even before they start erupting! That’s why, at your child’s routine appointments, we’ll give them a topical fluoride treatment that only takes a few minutes.
Athletic Mouthguards
Participating in sports is great for children for a variety of reasons, but you know what isn’t? Dental injuries that result from running into other players or being hit by flying equipment. To help your child’s smile stay safe so they can stay in the game, our practice can provide them with a custom-made mouthguard. Unlike generic mouthguards from the store, our custom-guards are specially designed to fit over each child’s unique teeth, making them more comfortable and providing better protection at the same time.
